Change Toronto: Two new Performance Art Pieces

Started earlier this year with the Police State performance art piece at Dundas Square - in response to what they witnessed during their participation in the G20 protests and rallies - the Change Toronto Performance Series by Starla Bontecou and The Gentleman presents two new happenings.

As a lament and call to action, Starla Bontecou and Lake Ontario will express the naked silence of the city’s most important resource.

As a piece of performance activism, Starla Bontecou and the Gentleman will jar viewers into awareness of the epidemic of sexual violence against women in Toronto. Exploring the ephemeral nature of physical bruises, the performance piece will interrogate the process of overcoming emotional and psychological bruises created by sexual exploitation.
