The SB Collective began as a small collective of writers and artists getting together once a month to produce a zine, and throw events. From 2008 to 2010, Steel Bananas produced a monthly webzine dedicated to Canadian visual art, literature, music, and performance. As the time passed, the collective began to produce a greater number of spinoffs from our digital publications, and our members scattered across Canada, now spanning coast to coast.
Since 2011, the SB Collective has shifted its mandate from digital zines to print and digital publications. The SB Quarterly is the new print and digital manifestation of the original zine, with a greater emphasis on visual art and literature.
